Your tenancy agreement
By signing your tenancy agreement you have made an agreement to do all of the things that the tenancy agreement says you must do. Once you sign the tenancy agreement, your rights in that agreement cannot be changed without your permission. The only things that can change are the annual rent and service charges. You will receive four weeks’ notice of any changes to rents and service charges.
Under most councils and housing associations, security of tenure comes in the form of a Secure Tenant or an Assured Tenant. The main difference is that, as a Secure Tenant, the rights of the tenant are set down in law by Acts of Parliament.
We have agreed to extend the rights of an Assured Tenant to match or exceed those of a Secured Tenant. Therefore, under Clapham Park Homes, all Assured Tenants’ rights are covered in part by an Act of Parliament and in part by your legally binding tenancy agreement with us.
