"Developing a new sustainable environment for Clapham Park supported by quality local services."

I am very honoured to have been elected resident-chair of Clapham Park Homes. I certainly have a lot to live up to and I am lucky to have the assistance of a very supportive and skilled Board.
I have been actively involved in the community since the very first meeting of what eventually became the Clapham Park Project, back in September 1999. At that meeting we were a small group of strangers, drawn together by the feeling that our area deserved better. But at that meeting, the community took its first step forward to reach out and grab a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a better life for us all.
Since then the area has improved. Significantly, what we have now is a workable plan to improve the area and local services.
I believe that what has been central to our success is the dedication of everyone who has been involved with Clapham Park, ensuring that the community is firmly at the heart of the process – it is, after all, about us, our families, our homes and our neighbourhood.
It is for this reason that I urge you to take one of the many opportunities that will be provided, to help you keep yourself informed as to what the proposed changes will mean for the area and to tell us what you think. I for one am committed to ensuring that all voices in the area continue to be heard to ensure that the community ends up with what the community wants. It is essential that everyone – especially those who may not have always agreed with the transfer – gets involved and continues to have their say to ensure that the transformation of Clapham Park further strengthens our community.
