Rent and service charges
Your tenancy agreement will tell you how much your rent is at the start of your tenancy. This figure will change in April of every year as we review the rent.
You must pay your rent each week, one week in advance. If you choose to, you can also pay in advance every month or every fortnight. It is your responsibility to make sure that your rent is paid on time. Joint tenants are equally responsible for making sure the rent is paid.
In addition to basic rent, leaseholders are required to pay service charges.
A service charge is a fee paid for a service provided.
We charge fees for services such as the cleaning of shared areas, entry phones, lifts and community caretakers.
We will separately identify the amount that is charged for services from the amount that is charged for rent. This means you will be able to see exactly what you are paying for and make sure that you only pay for the services that benefit you.
We do not make a profit from service charges - we only charge you for the actual cost of providing the service.
