CPH has made good progress in providing new and refurbished homes and we continue to involve residents in transforming the community in which they live.

Due to the downturn in the economic climate, lenders are nervous in providing funding, so we agreed to minimise risk by ensuring we can use properties for alternative tenures, such as shared ownership. Volunteers Needed for Golden Age

Metropolitan Support Trust is part of Metropolitan Housing Partnership, and is a specialist care and support organisation looking to recruit volunteers for their Golden Age Programme based in Haringey.

We are looking for 20 Golden Age volunteers working with elderly people in various roles including activity support, service support and companionship. You would be expected to volunteer for at least two hours per week and we are looking for someone that can be flexible, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.

Clapham Park Homes Resident Nominated for TPAS Award, 2011

Theresa Agyeman, a mother of four and resident of Clapham Park Homes (CPH), has been nominated for the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Tenant of the Year Award

Theresa became involved with CPH when she signed up to be a community volunteer with the CPH Block Champions programme in 2009. Since joining, she has made significant contributions to not only the Block Champions programme, but the Parking Proposal Working Group, The Mears Improvement Plan Group (CPH’s maintenance contractor), the Local Offer Working Group and the Community Panel. In each of these forums, Theresa has been instrumental in not only voicing the concerns of the local community, but working with CPH to develop procedures and strategies that improve the services and the lives of her local community. End of Employment Projects celebrated by Clapham Park Homes

Clapham Park Homes (CPH) celebrated the end of its Employment Training Projects programme, as well as marking the departure of Makeda J. Hewitt, Employment Training Coordinator for CPH, during a presentation event held on 27th October 2011.

During the event, Makeda, who is now working with Metropolitan Housing Trust as a Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) Advisor, presented a summary of the projects run by CPH that residents on the Clapham Park Estate have benefitted from over the last two years. These include the Lambeth Construction Training Project, designed to support those wanting to train and work in the construction industry; and Future Jobs Fund, which provided the opportunity to train with an employer for six months.

Late night opening review

If a resident needs to see a member of staff outside of normal office hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), arrangements can be made by appointment.
