How long will repairs take?

We have given every repair a category code which tells you the maximum time it will take us to carry out the repair.  There are four categories:

Category 1 – Emergency repairs are made safe within 24 hours

Repairs in this category include:

  • Major water leaks.
  • Total loss of electricity – where the fault is inside the property.
  • Gas leaks – that are not covered by the gas company.
  • Major structural problems.
  • Total loss of heating.
  • Security following a break-in.
  • Health and safety repairs.

Category 2 – Urgent repairs are completed within two working days

Repairs in this category include:

  • General repairs to heating and hot water.
  • General plumbing repairs.
  • Minor leaks.
  • Minor electrical repairs.

Category 3 – Routine repairs are completed within five working days

Repairs in this category include:

  • Minor roof repairs.
  • Carpentry repairs.
  • Door entry phone repairs.

Category 4 – Non-urgent repairs are completed within 30 working days

Repairs in this category include:

  • Guttering repairs.
  • Doors and window repairs (except where your home is unsafe).
  • Repairing plasterwork after other repairs are completed.
